Philosophy On A Clear Day Review

Philosophy On A Clear Day

When checking out Philosophy products, we always think of their lotions. There are so many flavors/scents, and they range from the normal flowers and so on to hot chocolate and candy. It’s amazing really. And they tend to do it all without irritants, parabens, etc, and apparently with all natural methods of extraction, ingredients, etc. The problem is the acne treatment world is a little more complicated, actually requiring certain types of ingredients to fight acne in certain amounts, not just amounts that you think are great in combination with ingredients that aren’t necessarily harmful.

Philosophy On A Clear Day provides an entire line, but the ingredients of their Retinol Clarifying Lotion include Water, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Emulsifying Wax, Glycerin, C10-30 Cholesterol/Lanosterol Esters, Cetyl Ricinoleate, Cetyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Retinol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ascorbic Acid, Bisabolol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Peg-10 Soy Sterol, Stearic Acid, Methyl Methacrylate/Glycol Dimethacrylate Crosspolymer, Propyl Gallate, Polysorbate 20, Triethanolamine, Disodium Edta, Bht, Benzoyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol.

The only ingredient in that whole mix meant to actually fight acne is retinol. But they use such a tiny amount, and they forget that retinol is not the only ingredient in their mix that will irritate skin. The whole point of specifying that you don’t use things like parabens is to point out the idea that you don’t use ingredients that would hurt your skin. Alcohols and other irritants harm the skin! At $40 per bottle, this is extremely overpriced to say the least.
