Benzaclin Review

A prescription acne treatment, Benzaclin is a combination acne product that is meant to treat whiteheads, blackheads, and pimples all in one powerful formula. It combines benzyl peroxide and clindamycin, and it is meant to be applied twice a day in the morning and evening after washing your face. They even claim that Benzaclin has been shown to reduce mild to moderate acne within two weeks. You can get a short $15 rebate on Benzaclin when you send in your receipt for your 50g Benzaclin prescription, saving you some money. Most online users reported paying about $40 each month at their pharmacy.

However, Benzacilin’s main ingredient, benzyl peroxide, though effective, is known to cause side effects such as redness, itchiness, and dryness and to cause further breakouts when the treatment is stopped. And though more effective when combined with benzyl peroxide, clindamycin has been connected to side effects including diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, rash, and itch. However, in all its forms, clindamycin is strictly a prescription substance.

Despite the appeal of prescriptions, many find themselves disappointed by Benzaclin due to side effects, recurring acne, and sometimes unsatisfactory initial results. When natural treatments are offering more efficient results and no side effects, Benzaclin simply does not measure up.

I started using benzaclin in December 2011, I was so happy to try it, since my acne was extremely severe. Slowly it cleared up and by March it was flawless! It appeared as though I never had acne! And just as slowly it had cleared up, it was all starting to come back! And now in July, IT LOOKS AWFUL!!!!!!! I’ve tried to schedule various appointments. No luck. I hate looking at myself. I feel horrible. And i’m exhausted with my shitty skin.
