Acne Free Review

Acne Free

One of the many imitators of the popular Proactiv acne treatment, Acne Free is often sold at Walmart stores across America. They claim that it uses a 24/7 time released formula while also offering a more affordable alternative as opposed to Proactiv. The big draw is that Acne Free is cheaper than Proactiv. But it uses the same 10% Benzoyl Peroxide to fight acne and accelerate healing.

However, despite claims that Acne Free works better than Proactiv, there is actually no scientific proof to suggest that idea. In addition, it still uses benzoyl peroxide, which we do not recommend for any serious acne fighters. First of all, it often dries out the skin, causing redness, irritation, and inflammation, exactly what many acne fighters are trying to get rid of. In addition, while it does get rid of acne quickly, it makes you dependent on their formula. Were you to stop using any benzoyl peroxide based product, you would have a severe breakout in short order, forcing you to go back.

Benzoyl peroxide is a cheap ingredient. If you really want to use it, you can find it for around $3-$5 in your local grocery store. But you will have to buy a moisturizer and other ingredients separately. So it might be an issue of sheer convenience. We do not think Acne Free is any better than Proactiv. But it is cheaper, and for many it is the simple fact of bang for your buck.
